Slab Size Measuring System

Spechtlab PM Series Slab Size Measuring System is an advanced shaft measurement system that measures the width, edge profile, convexity and concavity features, center deviation and both edge and center thickness of slabs or plates. The system is suitable for installation in cold or hot applications, before or after the cutter or at the reheat furnace inlet.

Real Time Control and Visualization

The Slab Dimension Measurement System is equipped with real-time data processing and visualization features. The system displays slab profiles in 3D and provides instant control to operators by integrating with SAP/Level-2 systems. In addition, the performance of produced slabs can be analyzed in detail thanks to historical data records.

High Precision and Reliability

This system performs high-precision measurements on hot or cold materials. The system captures a complete edge profile by projecting laser lines onto the slab edges and can optionally perform additional measurements such as skew and length. Calibration and system configuration are performed easily and reliably, thus minimizing any occupational health and safety risks.

Advanced Measuring Technology

Slab Size Measuring System uses advanced technologies to precisely measure the slab shape down to the smallest detail. Laser-based distance and profile sensors measure slab width, edge profile, edge thickness, concavity/convexity and length with millimeter precision. This data is used to calculate slab weight, provide information on edge profile, correct edge thickness and width of slabs before they enter the rolling mill, thus increasing edge scrap yield in the hot strip mill.

Smart Software and Integrated Alarm Systems

The system software graphically displays left and right edge profiles, generates trend graphs for key dimensions over time, and provides visual alerts to the operator in the event of out-of-tolerance conditions. Alarm limits and tolerance values ​​ensure that production processes are kept under control. In addition, data is recorded and saved for use in quality control processes.

Flexible Cooling Options.
